Andrew Walter, Head Coach
Coach Walter is entering his 5th season as the head coach with SMN.

When facing adversity, Coach Walter brings is strengths of remaining levelheaded during moments of high tension.
When he isn’t busy on the field, he loves spending his time with wife, Elizabeth and boys: James and Jack.

Julian Parks, Defensive Backs Coach
Coach Parks is entering his 5th season as the defensive backs coach | passing game coordinator with SMN.
Coach Parks played Defensive back at Ft. Scott Community College before finishing his playing career at Baker University. In 2004, he started his coaching career as a receivers coach at Baker University. In 2006, he became the secondary coach at Turner High school were he later became the Defensive coordinator and then Head Coach. In 2020 is when he joined the North football staff.

Brett Moulin, Defensive Coordinator | Linebackers
Coach Walter is entering his 3rd season as the defensive coordinator | linebackers.
Coach Moulin core values are to help players be the best person they can be. When facing adversity, Coach Moulin stays positive and optimistic.
“I wanted to be a coach because of my mom and dad. They both were high school coaches and I loved going to games and practices with them. I saw the impact that they had on their athletes and I wanted to be a similar role model and have a positive effect on student athletes.”

Ryan Durand, Defensive Line Coach
Coach Durand is entering his 7th season as the defensive line coach with our SMN Bison. He came into our football community to give back to the sport and be a good role model .
Coach Durand is a Doctor of chiropractic as well as a Former NFL offensive lineman

Barnett Thompson, Assistant Freshman Coach
Coach Thompson is entering his 4th season as the Assistant Freshman Coach with SMN.
When you don’t see Coach Thompson rallying up the players and parents, you can find him in the community helping with students. He is a fun & loud and presents daily full of energy. He always keeps doing what he does to support these students and keep improving.

Coach Devin Hance, Strength and Conditioning
Coach Hance is entering his 2nd season as the Strength and Conditioning Coach with SMN.
Coach Hance has his credentials in: MS. & CSCS

Hance became a Coach to impact and change the lives of athletes, while setting them up for a successful life.
At home or in the weights room, he will have his best boys up with him. His three sons and then they all go home to hang out with mama!

Coach Danny Long, Defensive Coordinator
Coach Long is entering his 5th season as the Defensive Coordinator with SMN.
Coach Long is going into his 15th Year of Coaching (11 as a Defensive Coordinator).
Previously, he was the Defensive Coordinator at Harmon & Shawnee Mission East.
He Coached in 2022 Greater Kansas City Coaches Association All-Star Game!
My core value is to help players and teams be the very best version of themselves while learning life lessons in building & developing trust among their teammates and coaches
When facing adversity: “To continue through adversity with persistence, discipline & enthusiasm.”
Coach Long wanted to help develop better young men through the game of football that is unlike any other sport.
Off the field and out of the school, he loves being with Wife- Allie, who is a Chemistry Teacher at SM South. They have their Son: Hudson (4) & Daughter: Hadley (2)

Megan Burki, Athletic Trainer
Coach Long is entering her 3rd season with SMN.
Megan is Masters of Science and maintain both national certification and state licensure (Megan Burki MS, LAT, ATC)
My core value is: “I view my job as advocating for the student athletes overall heath. This includes both finding ways for them to compete safely and looking ahead and their future health. As well as advocating for their mental health. I think loyalty goes a long way, and laughter can sometimes make it easier to get through the hard stuff. I strive to provide a safe place for all student athletes.”
Megan is a daughter, sister and most importantly, a Proud Aunt!

Coach Heidenreich is entering his 1st season as the Pass Game Coordinator/Wide Receivers with SMN.

Jeremiah Baer, Assistant Running Backs Coach
Coach Baer is entering his 1st season as the Assistant Running Backs Coach with SMN.
Coach Baer has 13 years of football coaching experience- 5 years at the little league level and 8 years at Olathe North High School. Additionally, I have 9 years of track coaching experience at Olathe North.
My core value: “There is no replacement for displacement. In other words, there is no substitute for hard work.”
When facing adversity: “I am resilient. I am the same person regardless of whether the situation is good or bad. I never give up, and find that with each challenge, I become better equipped to handle future obstacles.”
“Right after graduating college, my wife was working at a church that had an Upward basketball league. One day the kids’s pastor came to me and told me he had signed me up to be a coach. Having never coached before (and not knowing most of the rules for basketball), I started coaching my first team. I immediately fell in love with coaching and seeing the determination and joy in students lives as they progressed in sports! I had played football almost my entire life- often playing with an old ratty boxing glove as a ball when we didn’t have an actual football- so coaching football was my logical next step. I love the community, teamwork, sense of family and important life lessons that football provides.”

Coach McCarty chose coaching to make a difference in the lives of young people.
